I've been going here for lunch for more than 20 years and still love it. It's a small and unpretentious place with great sandwiches. Although you can sit at one of the tables outside, I usually get my order to go.
The fresh roast turkey on dutch crunch is the best! It's moist and juicy. -

My coworkers and I like getting lunch here because the customer service is great and personable, and their sandwiches are also good portions. As a vegan, my options are pretty limited but that's ok! Their veggie avocado sandwich is pretty good and they pack tons of veggies onto it. I do appreciate that they change their gloves (without me asking) to make my sandwich so to ensure that there's no cross-contamination of meat for my veggie sandwich (TYSM!). My coworkers really enjoy the chicken salad sandwich but apparently that's a popular one since they typically are sold out of it by noon! Another coworker highly recommends the hot turkey sandwich as well (supposedly tastes like Thanksgiving in a sandwich?! - I'll take their word for it).
If you're looking to stop by to get lunch and are within walking distance, then I'd highly recommend walking since parking is very limited. If you get there around 11:30 (just before the lunch rush) then you can typically get parking right at the front and you'll also beat the lunch rush line. Anytime after that though? Yikes, good luck! Sometimes the line will be out the door since there are only two people holding down Jan's deli. There's no seating inside since it's a smaller spot however there's some seating outside but even that is limited as well! -

Had the pleasure of going here for lunch the other day. Small, quaint shop located right next to the Menlo Park Cal train station.
I ordered the hot turkey roll on dutch crunch. I loved that the turkey was not just the plain old turkey deli slices. Turkey was thick cut, warm, and juicy. They have a mixture of both dark and white meat but they are willing to accommodate if you want just all dark or all white. Eating slices of turkey like this really reminds me of Thanksgiving! You have the option to customize what goes in your sandwhich but the standard is lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard, pickles, onions, and swiss cheese. They have a couple different bread and cheese options you can choose from.
One thing to note, the turkey slices are bathed in turkey juice so if you don't eat your sandwich immediately it might get soggy! They didn't have an option to toast the bread which made it slightly wierd that my Dutch crunch bread wasn't as crunchy as it usually is.. But regardless still yummy! -

this place is a wonderful little gem hidden on Alma street next to Axis gym. I absolutely love their hot turkey sandwich and customer service. I brought my dog for a walk with me but he was not allowed inside. I cannot tie him up because he will eat out of his lease they were very gracious to make my sandwich and hand it to me outside. if you are looking for a wonderful deli In or around Menlo Park I highly recommend the hot turkey sandwich. I haven't tried anything else because I get this every time. Next time I will not devour it right away and actually get a picture.

Their sandwiches are soo good! Was introduced to Jan's by a coworker and finally decided to grab one of their famous roast turkey sandwiches for lunch. I love that the bread and toppings were all customizable and I was surprised to see that the turkey wasn't deli turkey slices, but actual roast turkey. This made the sandwich super moist, and reminiscent of Thanksgiving leftovers (especially after adding cranberry!). Definitely will be making more trips here for lunch!
